Český Krumlov

A UNESCO-listed town just a 12-minute drive from the guesthouse. A castle, a revolving theatre, galleries and museums.

Český Krumlov is just 12 km from the guesthouse – a 12-minute drive. Its historic centre in a bend of the Vltava is one of the most beautiful towns in the Czech Republic and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The town is a cultural hub: the Municipal Theatre stands in Horní Street, and in summer performances take place on the revolving auditorium in the castle garden. There are many galleries and museums – the best known include the Regional Museum, the Egon Schiele Art Centrum and the Wax Museum.

Most of the Gothic and Renaissance monuments were built under the Lords of Rožmberk, who moved here from Rožmberk Castle in the 14th century.
