At 1,084 m, Mount Kleť is the highest peak of the Blanský Forest, and its summit is crowned by the oldest stone lookout tower in Bohemia. On clear days you can see the Šumava mountains and even the Alps.
Pension U Lišků sits right below Kleť, so you can set off straight from the door. Plenty of car-free forest cycle trails wind around the mountain, and you can ride through the woods all the way to Zlatá Koruna or Český Krumlov. The tarmac paths around Kleť, with gentle or no climbs, are ideal for families with children.
In winter Kleť is a paradise for cross-country skiers. Family ski slopes are nearby at Rohy and Chmelná.
